Science with the MPIfR-MT SKA Prototype Telescope
The era of new radio telescopes has just arrived and it is now time to have a first glimpse on the potential of upcomming faciclities like the Square Kilometre Array. In this light, the Max-Planck Scociety has invested in the MPIFR-MT SKA prototype telescope that will be built, at the SKA site, in South Africa and will operate mid 2018.
Interested user of the prototype telescope are invited to this 1-day workshop to discuss the scientific and technical potential with the aim to compile a comprehensive observing programme for the upcomming years.
Technical details of the Prototype Telescope: effective diameter 15 m; receiver: S-Band, Ku-Band, optional L-Band
If you would like to participate please register. If you would like to present a talk please provide an abstract.
Date: Monday, 16th of April 2018; programme will start at 10:00 am.
Venue: Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie, Auf dem Hügel 69, 53121 Bonn
