DESCRIPTION:\n\n \n\nOutline\n\nThis Focus Meeting aims at an overview ab
out the current status of radio astronomy within its various frequency ran
ges\, in continuum\, line\, and time domain astronomy\, and how it could b
e protected from the increasing impact of radio frequency interference fro
m other users of the radio spectrum. The most important recent discoveries
and an outlook of radio astronomy will be discussed. This will be complem
ented by a discussion of the current threats to future radio astronomical
infrastructure and technical-\, software-\, and regulatory instruments to
reduce the impact of radio interference. The potential identification of p
riority bands\, which should be especially protected\, will be discussed.\
n\nKey topics\n\n\n	\n	Current advances and scientific highlights in radio
astronomy across the spectrum in the light of increasing radio frequency
 interference: HI\, molecular lines\, continuum\, VLBI\, transients\, and r
adio astronomy on the moon\n	\n	\n	Frequency coverage and technology of pr
esent and future receivers\n	\n	\n	Current and future impact of RFI on rad
 io astronomy\n	\n	\n	RFI excision and its limitations\n	\n	\n	Regulatory p
rocesses at the national and international level\n	\n	\n	Local regulatory
and hybrid measures to protect radio astronomy\n	\n	\n	Priority bands for
 the upcoming decade(s)\n	\n\n\nhttps://events.mpifr-bonn.mpg.de/indico/eve
