M2FINDERS and Beyond: Magnetic Fields around Black Holes

The workshop “M2FINDERS and Beyond” is a two-day event that takes place at the Ringberg Castle in Kreuth, south of Munich, on 21-22 September 2023. The workshop aims to bring together the members of the M2FINDERS project, as well as external collaborators and experts, to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the field of VLBI science related to magnetic fields in the vicinity of black holes.  Participation in the workshop is by invitation.

The workshop presents the results and achievements of the M2FINDERS project, an ERC-funded initiative that develops novel techniques and methods for VLBI data analysis, with the goal of mapping magnetic fields at scales smaller than 1000 gravitational radii from supermassive black holes. The workshop will address the physics and evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGN), as well as on the future prospects and opportunities for VLBI observations. We expect the workshop will provide a stimulating and collaborative environment for exchanging ideas, feedback, and questions among participants.
