DESCRIPTION:The Next Generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) project of the US
  National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) has made significant progress
  since its positive assessment in the last US Decadal Survey.  Following 
 the first meeting in Bonn last December\, a second meeting is being held o
 n 27 and 28 (morning) September at the Max Planck Institute for Mathemati
 cs in the Sciences in Leipzig downtown. The goal is to discuss the scienti
 fic interests of the German community in ngVLA science and opportunities. 
 In addition to members of the German community\, we look forward to scient
 ific exchange with Tony Beasley\, NRAO Director\, and Eric Murphy\, ngVLA 
 Project Scientist\, and other international colleagues.\n\n\n\nGroup pictu

 he scientific meeting will be followed by a presentation of key component
 s of the 18-metre ngVLA telescope prototype at an event on the afternoon 
 of 28 September organized by mtex antenna technology and the National Radi
 o Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). This event will be held under the patronag
 e of the Prime Minister of Saxony\, Michael Kretschmer\, and will provide 
 a unique opportunity for scientists to learn more about the technology beh
 ind the telescopes and to interact with our NRAO colleagues.  More detail

 tation event as well (the morning of 28 September is used for informal sc
