RATIONALE
The BONN neutron star workshops aim to bring together observers and theoreticians to exchange and discuss new ideas related to neutron star research in a one-day workshop.

STRUCTURE OF THE MEETING
In the style of previous meetings, the workshop will start at 9:00 with a 'news' session summarising highlights from pulsar, FRB and SNe research. There will be additional topical sessions related to the local environments of neutron stars. Each talk will last 12 minutes (+ 3 minutes for the Q&A session).  At the end of the day there will be a wrap-up session, in which the day's topics will be discussed. Lunches and coffee breaks are sponsored by the MPIfR. The conference dinner (optional, at ~18:30) is at your own expense.

SPECIAL TOPIC

Neutron stars and their local environments

  • Electron capture supernovae (SNe) and their possible outcomes;
  • The progenitors of ultra-light/ultra-massive neutron stars (NS);
  • Advances in SN simulations and predictions (e.g. masses, kicks, spins, alignments etc.).
  • NS in binary systems (e.g. x-ray binaries, black hole (BH) +NS systems, spider systems, double NS systems, ...) and their formation scenarios;
  • Pulsar winds and magnetospheres;
  • Neutron stars in globular clusters;
  • Fast radio burst (FRB) localizations and constraints on their progenitors (e.g. SNe, magnetars, pulsars);
  • Propagation effects in FRB and pulsar signals (e.g. dispersion measure, rotation measure, scattering, scintillation, ...);
  • Neutron stars and FRBs as sources of GWs.

  • There is parking space available at the MPIfR. For further questions please contact (cwalker(at)mpifr-bonn.mpg.de; aercolino(at)astro.uni-bonn.de).

CHILDCARE
The MPIfR has a family room (equipped with toys, a changing table, a sofa and a desk) that can be made available to the participants and their families during the meeting. The talks can also be broadcasted to the room, if needed.  We are also able to provide support for childcare. If you require this service, please e-mail (mscruces(at)mpifr-bonn.mpg.de; cwalker(at)mpifr-bonn.mpg.de; aercolino(at)astro.uni-bonn.de) as soon as you register.

CODE OF CONDUCT
